How We Scored the Upgrade
I want to share how we were able to get the upgrade to this suite so that it might encourage others to be brave and ask questions. Since we’re from the Seattle area, we were a little worried about dealing with the Las Vegas heat – especially when it’s 110 degrees during the day and still 100 at night. The pools close at 6 pm, which doesn’t help when it’s still scorching out.
We’d always dreamed of staying in the Lanai Suite because it has a private plunge pool you can use 24/7. So, I called The Cosmopolitan a week before our trip to see about upgrading. Initially, they quoted $500+ per night, totaling $2600 for our 4-night stay. So we decided to stick with the Free Boulevard Tower Fountain View Room.
But at check-in, I asked again about the Lanai Suite upgrade. They still quoted $500 per night, but I asked if there was any way to get a better price. After a bit of back and forth between the Hotel Check-in Clerk and him speaking with the manager, they agreed to an upgrade for just $150 a night. What a deal!
As a dear friend always tells me, “Asking is Free.” Don’t be afraid to ask about upgrades, we score so many great rooms by doing this. Don’t be afraid to ask, the worst thing that can happen is they say no. And always tip the front desk clerk if they are especially helpful. Downstairs Entry 3/4 Bathroom with Shower
Welcome to the Lanai Suite at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas! As soon as you step in, you’re greeted by an elegant entryway leading to a well-appointed 3/4 bath with a shower – perfect for guests or to take a quick rinse after a plunge in the pool!

Stepping into the Lanai Suite, you’re greeted by an elegant entryway beyond the well-appointed 3/4 bath. The Suite has beautiful modern artwork throughout and a floor-to-ceiling tiled mirror.
Kitchen and Eating Area for 4 Guests
It is great to have a kitchen/dining area while staying in a hotel room or suite. This space is sleek and functional with a wet bar, sink, honor bar, honor bar fridge, and a personal mini fridge. It’s so handy for preparing snacks or mixing up your favorite drinks. Next to the kitchen, we have a seating area for four, A flatscreen TV along with beautiful artwork that adds a touch of elegance and vibrancy to the space. Make sure to try the in-room dining options, they were surprisingly affordable for being in a 5 Star Hotel, not that they are cheap, but not as bad as you would think…
Grand Living Area
The living room features a huge sectional couch, a large TV, and Bluetooth connectivity for all your entertainment needs. The grand staircase leading to the loft, combined with additional artwork, creates a stunning focal point.
Private Outdoor Patio
One of our favorite spots was the private outdoor patio with a plunge pool. Normally, these pools are hot tubs, but a quick chat with the pool guy had it cooled down for a refreshing dip. Pure bliss! While this suite doesn’t have direct access to The Chelsea Pool, the entrance is just a 20-second walk away. Nine of the eleven Lanai Suites do offer direct pool access, but we found the short walk no issue.
Back Inside: The Loft Master Suite
Heading back inside, we ascend the grand stairwell with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering spectacular views of The Chelsea Pool. The loft-style master bedroom features a luxurious king bed and a large TV, designed for ultimate relaxation. The motorized shades and smart lighting modes add to the suite’s luxury.
Master Bathroom
The master bathroom is spacious and stylish, with his and hers sinks, a large closet stocked with plush slippers and robes, a glass-enclosed toilet area, and a huge shower space. Sandtastic said that the lighting wasn’t great for putting on makeup. There is no makeup mirror with a vanity or lit makeup mirror like many higher-end rooms have. Overall the bathroom was very nice, but adding a bench or a couple more shower heads in the enormous shower and a makeup mirror in the seating space in the bedroom would have been a nice extra touch.
Final Thoughts
Staying in The Cosmopolitan’s Lanai Suite was a dream come true. From the thrill of securing the upgrade to enjoying the luxurious amenities and private plunge pool, it was an experience we’ll never forget.
Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or a special celebration, the Lanai Suite is worth every penny. If you ever find yourself in Las Vegas, I highly recommend checking out this amazing suite. And don’t forget to negotiate – you might just get an unbeatable deal like we did!
